sam's restaurant
Built in 1930’s Sam’s Restaurant has a lot of history.  Sam’s restaurant is no exception.Built in 1930’s Sam’s Restaurant has a lot of history. I was fortunate to take a tour of the kitchen with accompanied by Lou the owner as he showed how a pie is made. The pizza oven was gigantic and a converted, gas line heats the brick. sottocasa
If you like neapolitan style pizza this place is for you! I frequented this place on a Scott’s pizza tour and wasn’t disappointed. At the bottom of a brick townhouse you will find the restaurant which was is warm and cozy on a windy day. The main draw is the wood fired oven located in the back of the restaurant so check that out. It gets so hot in the oven that the pizza literally cooks in just
Da-Legna hot cherry pepper

I must admit I didn’t even know it was there because most of the time I’m pulling out of the Modern Apizza  parking lot and just drove by. My trusting pizza partner in crime Nicki brought the place to my attention. Wanting to explore new pizza we gave it a go on a busy Friday night. We were greeted quickly and
Sally's Pzza in New Haven
Sally’s is one of my favorite New Haven pizza spots of all time. Having said that it is deadlocked at my number #1 pizza spot in New Haven and #2 favorite of all-time. A. For me I think the experience add why I like it so much. Other places may be more contemporary in terms of the location/decor but your not going to Sally’s to buy furniture. Your going for the pizza which is served up in a baking
Pepe's Pizza in Fairfield, CT
Pepes’s Pizzeria has been a mainstay in New Haven since the beginning of time and for good reason. The pizza is damn good! In my opinion it’s at a tie with Modern Apizza for my second favorite pizza in New Haven. Sally’s Apizza is one my favorite of all-time. (See the review for Sally’s and Modern Apizza) I would have to say that if you hungry and it’s the weekend you better factor 30-45min into your wait time.
