Ode to Regina

Boston, Converted Gas Oven

At the risk of making Yankee fans upset I give my nod to Regina Pizzeria in the North End of Boston the title of the best pizza I’ve eaten to date! Yes I said Boston. Before Regina that title was a three way split between Pepe’s, Modern Apizza and Sally’s, all out of New Haven. Those three places still represent but just fall short of the best pizza for me.

What makes Regina Pizzeria the best? How about everything. Brick oven crust is done perfectly; crisp on the bottom but not overdone, the fresh mozzarella cheese is paired with their homemade sauce to blend perfectly. You ever eat something for the first time and just sit there and enjoy it for the first ten minutes without saying a word!

They also have a variety of specialty pizzas which are tasty and the service is very good which is an extra perk.

Wait: Bearable on Weekends (30min – usually less)
