There are certain pizza establishments that are a mainstay when you ask people in New York where they go for pizza. Arturo’s is mentioned among the other big names like Lombardi’s or Prince Street Pizza and rightly so. I think it’s the whole pizza experience there that works nicely. You get shuffled into a room where every inch is filled with artwork and pictures that are so new York. the atmosphere is casual but borders on the verge of intimacy as its use of lighting is clever. This is definitely a good date spot. Of course pizza take center stage but I have ordered other dishes of the menu that were fantastic. The dough is soft but chewy with crispy edges on the outside. The cheese resembled a buffalo cheese that worked great with the red sauce. Love it! What sets this place apart from the others is that it has live entertainment and did I mention the atmosphere?
