Last weekend I attended a craft beer festival in Danbury, CT so I had the opportunity to check out Stanziato’s wood fired pizza. I arrived on a Sat at 5 pm and it was relatively quiet inside. The menu was a bit different then what I’m used to seeing which is great. It had a good selection of red and white pies. (never seen that amount of white pies on a menu) I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered the Margherita pie which came out in 5 minutes. If you like wood fired pizza you won’t be disappointed. It had all the evidence of a wood fired pizza. A nicely charred crust underneath. (crispy on the edges and chewy inside) With the usual cast of fresh mozzarella, parmigiano, basil and extra virgin olive oil rounding out the mix. The pie was tasty! By the time I left the place was packing up so I could tell it was one of the trusted pizza locals in the area.
